Job Summary
The role of the Buyer is to maximise the revenue and profit of their chosen category, through buying, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and stock management. Continually comparing Wren's products with those of its competitors whilst negotiating prices with suppliers and manufacturers is essential in order to provide customers with the lowest possible price.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Quickly become an expert in the chosen market and offer a better range of products than Wren’s competitors.
- Maximise availability through buying the right quantities at the right time from multiple sources, whilst working with manufacturers and suppliers to secure allocation.
- Check pricing against competition on a daily basis ensuring Wren offers the cheapest product prices.
- Negotiate lowest possible purchase prices.
- Minimise overstocks.
- Take responsibility for product training and communication.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures regarding health and safety in the workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and KPI targets in line with expectations.
- Maintain awareness of new product developments, new initiatives and all promotional activity (eg press/internet ads etc)
- Utilise all documentation to ensure all necessary record logs are fully completed.
- Be fully aware of yours and the stores KPI performance eg: sales conversion rate, accessory sales, appliance sales, finance etc.
- Organise and manage your time to ensure timely appointments but also ensuring availability for walk-in customers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all unsold quotations receive a follow up call within 72 hours of the plan.
- Participate actively in any on-line customer planning assistance.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure safety in the workplace of colleagues and customers.
- Take on additional duties when required by your manager if possible.
- Undertake any required training and development.
- If required assist in the development and set up of future stores.

Working hours will be dependant on rotas, ensuring maximum consultant cover of showroom, specifically during peak trading hours (e.g. weekends and late nights).

Home and Store Delivery Checkers - Wren Kitchens: Howden Factory

The warehouse is an extremely busy and fast moving environment and getting busier as the business grows, this will be an exciting and challenging role for the right individuals contributing to how we manage loading and customer expectations. This is a responsible position and would suit someone who is keen to deliver a quality service by supporting the Wren despatch and home & store delivery teams. You will be working on behalf of our dedicated home & store delivery team ensuring the wagons are loaded accurately and correctly. You will also require an excellent working knowledge of both verbal & written English.
Full Description:
- Hardworking and dedicated to the task at hand
- Working safely in the busy docking area by being alert and vigilante at all times while controlling the loading progress
- Working closely with the Wren despatch and home & store delivery teams
- Controlling product and employee access to the rear of vehicle being loaded
- Articulate, Numerate and Literate
- Responsible for ensuring the run numbers are loaded in the correct order
- Checking each label to ensure that the run number corresponds with the vehicle being loaded
- Physically counting the total number of items being loaded on to the designated vehicle by run number and recording on paperwork
- Checking the manifest to ensure the product matches the label description
- Checking the label description to ensure it matches the actual item being sent
- Visually checking all product packaging ensuring it protects the product against damage while in transit
- Ensuring all paperwork associated with the load is checked accurately and matches what is being shipped
- Bringing to the attention of the despatch team supervisor any shortages damaged or incorrect items found
- Highlighting on the paperwork any shortage damaged or incorrect items found during loading
- Securing the rear vehicle door once the load is correct (less for any highlighted discrepancies) with a signed copy placed in the rear of the vehicle
- Delivering the checked and signed copy of the paperwork to the home & store delivery manager
- Keeping the job moving so as not to create blockages or delays
- Be prepared to work extra hours when needed to ensure that all loads are complete and correct

Design Engineer - Wren Kitchens: Howden Factory

With responsibility for NPD/NPI design engineering with emphasis on Product, Process and Materials development this role will be project based, varied and include:
- Working on specific NPD projects from concept through to manufacture
- True concept design and New product development/introduction
- Product feasibility including review of target cost and margin
- Analysis of technology for suitability working closely with new and existing suppliers
- Souring of materials through the supply chain (new and existing)
- Prototype design and testing prior to manufacture
- Producing product specifications for products and packaging
- Coordination and assessment of transit (logistical/handling) tests
- Liaise closely with, quality, marketing, purchasing and retail teams
To be successful you will be a hardworking, qualified graduate from a product design discipline, with your strengths being in the Technical aspect of design and a meticulous attention to detail, you will understand the importance of target price, margin and cost for manufacture.
In addition to this you will be competent in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works etc. With a confident and dynamic attitude you will be a team player who thrives working in a fast paced yet luxurious and rewarding environment. Travel will be expected within the UK and potentially into EMEA.
